Joanna Kuzia........................................Leslaw Kuzia

The core of our company is the husband and wife team of Les and Joanna Kuzia. Les Kuzia was educated in Europe, with a master's degree in biology, mechanics, and electrical engineering. After visiting over 40 countries, Les decided to make his home in Nevada, USA. Picturesque, very rich in wildlife, and spacious, Nevada is a virtual paradise for both the biologist and the filmmaker.

Then came Joanna, and she loves this country as well !! Joanna Kuzia was also educated in Europe, with a master's degree in boilogy. The latest member of the team is their young son Bartek. Working on various projects they bring the best people in the field into their team; scientists, scriptwriters, composers, editors, narrators, etc.

Working with composer Stephen Schwartz (routinely winning Oscars for his music for Disney productions), editor Tom Poore (one of BBC's best), 'walking encyclopedia' scientist Fred Ryser, George Page (from PBS Nature series), and Leonard Nimoy (probably best known for his role in Star Trek) has been a GREAT EXPERIENCE.

When Les needs a functional, complicated underwater housing for his high speed Arriflex, he does not search through fancy catalogs, he builds it himself. A Porshe electric window motor works perfectly in a remote time-lapse device of his own design. Optical systems for macro work and special effects are also built in his work shop. "It would take me much longer to draw time-consuming plans, and explain what I want to an engineer than to just build it myself" he says.

With a Master's Degree in both Biology and Mechanical/electrical Engineering, Kuzia is the perfect choice for expedition filming away from civilization, where success in overcoming obstacles depends in large part on resourcefulness and individual initiative. Les has a lengthy history of expedition work, including scientific, ethnographic and documentary expeditions involving mountain work, diving, and aerial cinematography. Based on his experience and knowledge Team Kuzia leads small groups of enthusiasts to spectacular, very remote areas of the Western US which are full of wildlife. Part of this program is an intensive course of video/photography, "shooting" wildlife and scenery.

Does this sound like your kind of people? If so, contact them and discuss your next project; whether it's an expedition to the Pamir Mountains, diving in the North Sea (been there), building a special lensmount (done that) or wherever your imagination takes you, - Team Kuzia can get the job done, on time, on budget, and on target.
